Late 2009 3.5 to 2.5 Bracket

Hi,

I'm about to take the plunge and replace the failing hard-drive (non recallable) in my late 2009 Imac, with an SSD. The one problem I have is finding a suitable 3.5 to 2.5 bracket. I've had recommendations for American products which aren't available in Europe; the Netherlands to be specific, and seeing as my hard-drive could give out at any moment I'd rather not risk waiting too long for one to turn up from the States. No-one on the Dutch forum I use has been able to say for certainty which brackets are compatible.

Can anyone say if this will work?

I use a couple of those Icy Dock adapters in my 2008 Mac Pro and they work fine.
Item model number: MB882SP-1S-2B
They appear to be the same size/mount as a standard 3.5" hard drive as used in your iMac.

If you want to save some money, you could simply mount the lightweight SSD drive with some double-sticky foam tape. Since the power/data is supplied with "floppy" cables, there isn't any alignment issue requiring a formal "mount". Simply stick it down and plug it in!

Interesting idea!
Alas my Icy Dock is in the post...and I dont think Amazon.uk will pay the return postal charges from the Netherlands.....
