Late 2010 13'' Macbook pro vs 2008 macbook start up

Hello,
Today I decided to see the difference between my 13'' macbook pro vs macbook start up test. End results the macbook loaded faster is this normal?

2.66 ghz
4gb ram
320 gb HD
not sure if software has anything to do with this test,so I have
ps5,Final cut pro,ms office 11, Apt 3, ilife 11
