If you can get a genuine apple battery (ifixit maybe) then why not but to be honest it won't be that much cheaper than getting apple to dio it and if anything goes wrong they have to fix it. They seem to be $100 or so on ifixits website.

A quick search on the forums here will show you the endless problems people have had with so called apple batteries bought online cheaply.
