Late 2011 Macbook Pro 15 inch 3d playback support

Hey all,

I just recently bought a Late 2011 Macbook Pro 15 inch with the ATI graphics card and Intel HD 3000. I was wondering if I connect this to my HDMI 3D Samsung Display, will it support 3D games / playback? Any ideas? Thanks!

Mac OS X does not support 3D AFAIK.

Is the ATI card itself 3D ready? How about if I bootcamp and load directly into Windows? I'm just curious if the card supports 3d

It seems to.

Since you can go from DisplayPort (Thunderbolt) to HDMI, I don't see why not? Of course you need to install Windows.

Don't you need PowerDVD with 3D support or something to play back 3d files? Or are you going to plug an external Blu-ray drive to your MBP? Haven't kept up with this tech stuff in a long time.

According to AMD's HD 6600M/6700M series page, it looks like it does support 3D technology.
