I have a 17" MBP. I've downloaded the AMD Catalsyst Mobility -to update the graphics drivers as Apple's Windows drivers suck- but it won't install.

Trying run it I get a snarky message about not having a proper graphics card installed - which is a bit amusing considering that's AMD's opinion of their own latest and greatest mobile graphics card, the 6770M ;).

Any ideas about how I can get the latest drivers installed?

I find that sometimes you just can't use the installer to update drivers, you have to manually install through Device Manager. I don't know why it works that way.

Yeah, check this post out.

It eventually tells you to use drivesweep, to ensure the removal of all graphics drivers associated with the apple bootcamp.

thanks for linking my post. I will update you soon after my final testing of my OC for the new late 2011 model.

But yeah use Drivesweaper to clean everything out from ATI else it will conflict with it. Then use the newest driver from ATI which would be 11.10.1

Thanks for posting that originally. Most helpful to people who really don't have any experience with drivers.

11.10.1 Drivers where can I find that, and why 11.10.1? a fix for what? :O

First off why do you need them? (www.amd.com/support)

Your question pertaining to 11.10.1, well why not 11.10.1?

A fix for low FPS and new drivers for the AMD 6750 specifically in the MBP.

If you are questioning any of this, you probably either don't need to do this, or you completely ignored anything that was posted previously.

Hasn't worked for me.

Lot of wibble in that post but it basically seemed to come down to:

Uninstall the AMD drivers and then use Driver Sweepers to uninstall the dregs.

First problem is that Guru3D has discontinued Driver Sweeper. So had to download it from another site (wonder how much malware I've picked up...)

Ran that, removed everything AMD.

Re-booted.

Re-ran it, didnt show anything AMD related anymore.

Downloaded the driver installer from AMD- same problem.

The morons at AMD can't code for ****.

Any other suggestions?
