Hi everyone,
I'm sure this has been asked before (I did some forum searching and found similar but not exact threads), but here goes...
I recently obtained a Late 2011 MBP 13" with the 2.8 i7 processor for free and I already threw 16 gigs of ram in it...anddddddd now I'm in full modification mode. I ordered the 480gb Transcend SSD Amazon had on sale and I'm going to throw that in the main hard drive bay. Then, a coworker was selling his Samsung Evo SSD for next to nothing so I bought that from him. Next, I ordered the hard drive caddy for the optical bay.
I was doing some more research and found that some MBPs have issues with an SSD being installed in the optical bay (seems like the 15" and 17" mainly).
I looked at the system information for mine and it looks like the link speed for both the main hard drive bay and the optical bay is 6 gb/s, however the negotiated link speed is much less (guessing that's due to the current hardware).
With this in mind, can anyone confirm that my MBP would work as a RAID 0 set up with the two SSDs and at the optimum speed (6 gb/s)?
Additionally, does anybody know of a good battery supplier?
Thanks.
