Hi, I have a late 2011 macbook pro 17" and today I noticed that the area above the keyboard seems to be very hot after using the MBP for few hours (specially the area above the F2,F3,F4 keys).

Anyone could tell me what would be the reason? Or is it normal to experience such a thing for a MBP that has been used for about an year and half?

Any tips/information would be highly appreciated.

I *really* need to finish this video detailing how to remove the over-gooped heatsink grease and install proper Arctic Silver 5.

Currently sitting @ 50C, Chrome (7 tabs), terminal, iTunes, Mail, Adium, Colloquy, and a couple network transfers to my NFS share going concurrently.

And I have the BTO 2.5 Ghz i7 Model ;)

65C idle is entirely too high.

*edit*

For further reference, sitting @ 37C with only Chrome and Adium open, no active transfers.
