I first learned of the Radeongate issue here, so I thank members for all the information they have provided thus far.

My question is what to do now. Iam thinking of having the GPU reballed, and would like references if you have had yours successfully reballed with lead solder and had no problems for an extended period of time. Did you go to a local computer shop or mail yours to a specialist?

However, I need to ask whether I should have the logic board replaced by Apple via the depot repair first? $310 US. My impression is that this isn't necessary. If Iunderstand the problem the issue is with the thermal paste, and therefore both the logic board and the GPU should be functioning just fine once properly soldered. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
