The PNY drive may work, but it will only give you USB3 speeds: 430mpbs reads 330-360mpbs writes A Samsung t5 would do the job. For backup and movie storage, this is "all that you need". Or else buy a "bare" 2.5" drive (any one will do) and a USB3 2.5" enclosure like this: SABRENT 2.5 Inch SATA to USB 3.0 Tool Free External Hard Drive Enclosure [Optimized for SSD, Support UASP SATA III] Black (EC-UASP) SABRENT 2.5 Inch SATA to USB 3.0 Tool Free External Hard Drive Enclosure [Optimized for SSD, Support UASP SATA III] Black (EC-UASP) www.amazon.com As an Amazon Associate, MacRumors earns a commission from qualifying purchases made through links in this post.
