Hello,

I just recieved my iMac today, and spent most of the day installing everything. So before I go to bed, I installed a game which is fairly normal specwise. I know the iMac can easily handle it atleast. Anyway, so I play for like 5min, and suddently the fan starts to be alot louder. I think it's the gfx card, cause every time I tab out and leave it there for a min or two, it goes away, and when I return in for a few it comes right back on.

I'm running my iMac i7 3.4 with 1gb gfx on an Bootcamped Windows.

What can I do?

That fans will become considerably louder depending on the game your playing.

The temps on the iMac can get pretty high and it needs to blast that fan to keep those temps at bay .

So if you just hear the fan and nothing else unusual like the fan grinding then that is all completely normal.

Really? It's extremely loud. My old iMac didn't make this much noise.
