Late 2012 iMac with Audioengine A5s, DAC worth it?

I just got some Audioengine A5's for my iMac and was thinking about getting the Audioengine D1 dac to go with it... http://audioengineusa.com/Store/Audioengine-D1#.UOo43qUTuX0

My question is - does it make a noticeable difference in sound quality. I tend to listen to music that is either heavy on the vocals, classical or instrumental. I am really looking for "crisper" and "fuller" music.

Sources are iTunes, Pandora (paid) or youtube channels.

Thanks for any tips.
