usually there are 2 releases a year with minor spec bumps in the fall.
should we expect soon another minor spec bump in CPU / GPU update this fall ?
like last year minor CPU increase for later 2011 and GPU 6750 -> 6770

what CPU / GPU might be coming this late 2012?

I wouldn't think there'd be anything until Haswell.

Maybe bump it in the spring, and Haswell in the fall of 2013?

It isn't very likely.

In 2011 the first update was in February and the second in October. This year they weren't updated until June.

Spring or summer of 2013 is probably the earliest we'll see an update, depending on when new processors and GPUs are available.

No, there usually are not two releases a year. It did happen last year because the MBP line was updated in early February and they released a very minor spec bump in October. These were just updated in June, dont expect one for this fall. Aside from the rumored 13" retina, dont expect any other MBP release/upgrades.

I expect Haswell for spring release, fall would be way overdue.

I was assuming it'd be delayed in the same way that ivy bridge was delayed to move old stock.

I figured everything would be pushed back.

I know i remember reading that Intel was expecting the earliest release to be Feb - March of 2013, so it is possible for a late spring release. But, now that i think about it, Apple will probably push it to Fall.

Usually there is one release a year.

If there is a second release this year, it will likely be analogous to the late 2011 update, i.e. CPU bumped up 5-10%, and an identical GPU clocked 5-10% higher.

EDIT: But I doubt it will happen, they'll just release Haswell MBPs in March-April. Maybe if Haswell gets delayed to late 2013, there will be an aforementioned style spec bump in early 2013. But it seems unlikely.
