late 2013 macbook pro lag graphics

I bought a late 2013 macbook pro with retina display 15'' with the dedicated GPU. But I found that graphics performance is not as I would expect, I had very choppy frame rates when scrolling through my iTunes library and iMovie projects(around 20fps). (even when set to use the dedicated GPU)

Is this normal? Or it is a software issue? Is Apple likely to fix it?
