Late 2013 Macbook Pro (Maverick): Mouse Keyboard Freeze

I have just got a 13" MBP with Maverick.

Frequently, I the keyboard and mouse will just freeze and the only way out is to do a restart by a long press the "On" button on the top right corner.

is anyone experiencing the same thing and how to rectify this?

I'm actually going through the same thing! The keyboard and mouse will not work. I have to hold down the power button until it finally restarts. I just received this computer last Friday and it has done it twice already. I'm sending it back to Apple for a new one. At this point, I'm thinking about returning it all together.
 
A lot of threads and posts about this already. It is a software issue and no doubt a software update is being developed and will shortly be released.
 
This is driving me nuts as well. Happening multiple times per day.

However, closing the lid of the computer for about a minute or so and then opening it again will enable the trackpad and keyboard again. If you don't close it long enough, it won't work.
