Should I upgrade my Late 2013 Macbook Pro 2.4GHz Inter Core i5, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD to Ref. Mac mini 3.2GHz 6-core Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD for $1099?

I use my MacBook Pro with the monitor so Mac mini is not an issue without a building display. I only use it to browse web and youtube videos. My Macbook can handle those fine for now. I don't want to return the Mac mini since I got it for such a good deal. ($200 off MSRP for ref.) (still under 14 days return period)

So my question is should I still keep my MacBook for couple of more year before I upgrade to Mac mini or should I upgrade to Mac mini now?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Well...considering your MacBook Pro does the job you could've easily gone with the i3 mac mini.

usually, it's good to upgrade when you need to, but if you can afford it, who cares, go for it.

It's your money. There are many positive reviews on the new minis. The way I see it (if you have the cash), get a mini and keep your notebook for portability when needed.

You did get a good deal. It’s always wise to buy tech when you need it but sometimes when it’s a great deal, it’s hard to pass it up

Yes this is my exact problem. So hard for me to return it because it's a good deal. $200 off is hard to come by. decision decision..

i7 Mac Mini is overkill for the purposes you described. My wife has the base model and it's fine for what she does. It's actually way more than she needs.
