The left shift key on my computer does not work when capitalizing, but works for other tasks. I thought it was limited to only this key, but then my computer quickly beginning typing in all caps, which suggests that my shift is is being held down. Moreover, sometimes my computer types in Greek symbols like øœπ. This suggests the option key is being held down. Every once in a blue moon, the whole keyboard doesn't work.
I can fix this by reseting the system management controller, and then my computer is fine for anywhere from 2-10 hours, then the keyboard messes up again. Obviously, this is not sustainable, as I use this machine to improve my productivity at work, and I really want to fix it , as I love the size and feel of this computer.
I opened it up to check for water damage and there was none. I cleaned out the computer and installed fan software to run the fan at 5000 rpm all the time, as sometimes I've noticed it runs a bit hot when on Twitch etc. and any work stuff.
I have no issues with my display, I reinstalled Mojave, trackpad works like brand new. Motherboard looks to be in perfect condition. Other thing that might be worth noting is I use encryption on this machine, (intelligent hub) to protect patient information.
Could this be an issue with the flex cables that run from the keyboard/trackpad to the motherboard? Any other tips?
