I have the late 2015 rmbp with
2.4 GHz Intel Core i5,
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3,
Intel Iris 1536 MB,
and running on high sierra.
I read the old post that it would work with the old samsung 4k monitor at 52 hz.

I am thinking to get the dell 2715q monitor. Does it still work fine?

I assume you mean the 2013 model (your post says 2015, title says 2013).

Is it the 13" or 15"? The 13" can't output at 4k/60hz (you'll be limited to 30hz), but I believe the 15" can.

Assuming a 13 inch machine here as that thread the OP references is a hack to get 52hz out of a 13 inch 2013 with a 4K machine, i’m Pretty sure it will run a little hot and may well lag with any serious work but it can do it. Personally I would not bother with 4K on that machine it’s not a great experience from all reports.
