Hello!

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro 13" and am in need of an upgrade but my budget is tight. I can never go back to ever using a Windows computer so I want to stay within the Apple family. I saw a listing for the model mentioned in the title, pretty much fully spec'd out for about $1,300. I was wondering if you think it is worth it?

I have the same Late 2013 rMBP 15" with 256 GB SSD. I have started noticing a big burned out hole in the middle of screen. around 1mm in diameter. Has anybody else with same machine noticed something similar? What are my avenues to get it fixed?

Of course it's worth it !
Mine is a 15" Late 2013 with 16GB of RAM and 1TB Flash.
Everything is MAXED OUT except the CPU, which is the middle option, the 2.3GHz one.
I didn't go for the 2.6GHz option because the CPU is the less important part for me (I need RAM the most, big & fast storage and a decent GPU - although the 750M is not as good as I expected)

I use Photoshop & Illustrator for work, AutoCAD & Matlab for college and Final Cut Pro for my video hobbies.
Nothing slows this beast down. Go for it !

I bought a 2013 refurb and put a 1TB drive in there and have absolutely no regrets. One of the best Apple purchases Ive made.

Most certainly worth it. had mine a week now and love it. late 2013, i7 2.3, 16gb/512gb and 750m.. although i am thinking of possibly switching back to a 13" purely for portability, and tbh, the specs on this are more than i need. Cracking machine though, you wont regret the purchase

In 2016, they are still using late 2013 haswell processors for the 15". It's technically still the newest model, with very slight differences.
