I've been using an external Samsung 27' monitor with my macbook for quite a few months and everything worked perfectly. Every time I closed my macbook, the display would flawlessly switch to the monitor. If my mac went to sleep and I woke it up while connected, they would both wake up at the same time. If I turned the monitor off and left the mac on then turned the monitor on again, it would be go right back on.
Fast forward to this week/month. For the past few months, I've been having a lot of issues with my macbook. The wifi seems to take forever to connect and it lags a lot during log in. Now when my macbook goes to sleep and I try and wake it while it's connected to the monitor, everything just stays black and I have to press the power button multiple times, turn both of them off, and just keep doing all this bs until they both work. If I turn my monitor off and leave the mac on, then turn it back on again, the monitor will start to flicker on and off and the only way to fix it is to disconnect and reconnect my hdmi.
5 months ago, everything worked flawlessly and I was really happy with my set up. Now it just frustrates me every single day. Could this be an issue with any of apple's recent updates? It's been driving me crazy.
