Hi,

I've been using my late-2013 rMBP for almost 2 years and just recently I start to notice that my MacBook is wobbling when I type.

At first I thought it's my desk, but after some careful inspection it's the MacBook Pro itself that is curved on the backplate. The rMBP battery cycle count is at 197 cycles, the condition is 'normal', the full charge capacity is at 7944mAh which mean the battery health is at 94%, and I can still use it for around 6 hours under normal use.

How can a battery that works properly at 94% health at 197 cycles swell? I feel like this is on Apple QA side and they should replace the battery at no cost instead of charging $199 if the battery is under 300 cycles or 3 years (at least 200 cycles or 2 years). I have a mid-2010 13" MacBook Pro and it's battery already went past 400 cycles but it is still in shape and work fine.

It's just defective. It happens sometimes.

If you're out of warranty, Apple probably won't replace the battery at no charge. Feel free to ask them, maybe they'll do it anyway.
