Late 2013 rMBP 2.6/8/256 model running El Capitan.

I have tried turning it off an on already.
 
Make sure you have 20%+ free space on your drive.

If you installed something lately see of it starts up processes at boot.

If you want you can also run diagnostics and see if it detects any failures.
