I have a late-2015 imac, works flawlessly, but appears I am stuck at Monterey 12.7.6. A few months ago I could no longer access OneDrive, I'm seeing now its because I need a newer OS, to upgrade to a newer Excel, to access OneDrive. Even worse, I tried to access OneDrive online, but it's requiring a Passkey, which requires Ventura or newer. Ugh. Does this mean I need to get a new Mac? Hate to do that since other than Office everything is great, but Office is obviously super critical...

I log into OneDrive online all the time and have never needed a Passkey. I think you might be confused with the log in option of using a Passkey. Passkey is not required.

This was always the case for me to, but today it’s requiring a passkey, has a QR code pop up, which I can’t take a pic of from Mac, nor does it offer any alternative login options.

The QR code pop-up is normal, but you don't take a pic of it with the Mac. You're supposed to scan the QR code with the camera app on your phone to authenticate. You must have set up a passkey earlier, because it shouldn't be asking you to sign in this way if you haven't. I'm surprised it's not offering you other ways to sign in though...that doesn't seem right.

This guide goes through how to sign in with a passkey:

but it's requiring a Passkey, which requires Ventura or newer
This requirement is a bit misleading and confusing. It's more about it requiring Ventura or newer to be able to set up or retrieve passkeys in macOS. However, you can still sign in with passkeys in supported browsers by scanning a QR code to use your passkey from another supported device.

Essentially, if the OS supports passkeys, then you don't need to use another device to sign in (same-device authentication). If the OS doesn't support passkeys, but the browser does, then you need to scan a QR code using another device that supports passkeys (cross-device authentication). Hopefully, that makes sense.
