The problem:
  • Bluetooth speaker is paired with my MacBook Pro (13", Touch Bar) but is disconnected
  • I close the lid to put the Mac to sleep
  • I re-open it later on to find it has automatically re-connected to the speaker - and changed the system sound output to it
This never happened with my old MacBook, and is annoying because I find myself trying to play a video or music only to accidentally frighten someone in another room where the speaker is!

As a temporary workaround I've added Bluetooth to the menu bar and have to disconnect the speaker every time the MBP wakes from sleep. Annoying.

Has anyone else experienced this bug?

Answered my own question. Run this in Terminal and it will fix it:
Code:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist DontPageAudioDevices 1
