Late Macbook Pro 15.4" weird fluttering fan noise

I use my macbook pro extensively everyday, so I know the sounds my fan makes, and of course it speeds up and slows down, but yesterday it started making a different noise. Even at the lowest fan rpm speed, its making a new weird sound. Its louder at the same rpm's than before and sounds like its almost fluttering/straining.

Any way I can troubleshoot it or should i just take it in?

Same thing happened with my 3 months old 15" macbook pro.
I took it in, they ordered a new fan. I should get it replaced this week.

Monitor your fan with smc_fan control. For me, at first it was making noise but spinning at normal speed. Now it maxes at 1000rpm. I wont be playing games until they change it

thanks for the reply. I already made an appointment to go in on sunday so hopefully I'll have it repaired soon. I already have smc_fan control installed so I'll continue to monitor my laptop temp and fan speed.
