Hey all,

This is my first post on these forums and I have a quick question about why I am getting better download speeds for my black macbook than the new 27'' iMac. I tested both in the same area and surprisingly, the macbook reached download speeds to ~26 Mbps, while the iMac download speeds was ~8-11 Mbps

I've maybe read somewhere that it has to do with the aluminum back casing, or perhaps the antenna is smaller than previous iMac models. Who cares to explain? Is there a way to attain the best speeds? I don't use any apple airport bases or whatnot.. I use a Dlink... Thanks and I've been following the "waiting for quad cores to ship" thread since September and these forums have been very informative. I got mine today, I ordered on 11/30 haha

**EDIT
Oh.. now it is showing speeds up to 20 Mbps.. nevermind?

Since it's an iMac, would you consider just hard wiring it to your home network rather than have it wireless? Unless you move it around a lot.
