Hi!

There is a thread on Apples Support Forums in which new mbp owners claim there's a problem with their MBP screen hinges, as they cannot be lying in their bed with their MAc laying on their tilted legs, wihtout avoiding the screen lid to almost close by itself.

I remember that the 17" MBP has a different screen hing mecanism, which led some users to claim the differences between he 17" and 15" MBP were related to a manufacturing problem (which apparently was not).

How you, owners of the MBP see this (apparently not) issue?

How do your MBP screen lid behaves?

Regards

My new 15" has some give similarly to my 17" MBP. The 15" pre late 2008 have always been very stiff. So to be honest I am quite used to it.

The screen hinge in my Macbook Pro reminds me of the one in the Macbook Air. The Mid 2007 Macbook Pro I owned had a very stiff hinge while the Late 2008 seems to have a very smooth hinge.

I like it, but I don't use it in any position other than in my lap or on a desk.

I can notice it a little bit but not enough that I hate it :)
