Latest AEBS Slows Down New Cable Modem Throughput

Hey All

I recently had my internet service upgraded with Rogers in Ontario.

They gave me the Hitron CGN3ROG modem/router.

When the Hitron is plugged directly into my computer, throughput is 320Mbps according to speedtest.

If I bridge the Hitron and put it through the latest AEBS, I only get 90Mbps. I cannot for the life of my figure out why that is.

I did the normal firmware update check and full restore of AEBS, that hasn't helped.

Has this been an issue for anyone else?

Incredibly high speeds you mention! I suspect that you really mean 320 Mbps (bits "b", not bytes "B"). That 90 Mbps via your AEBS suggests that you are using a poor Cat 5 Ethernet cable, so my advice is to replace it with a Cat 6 cable and test again.

They only gave Cat 5 cables in the box, I will go get a CAT6... thanks.

CAT 6 cable fixed the issue.
