Apple today shared a new Apple Card promotion that offers Apple Card users six percent Daily Cash back on purchases made at drugstores Walgreens and Duane Reade.

The bonus is available on up to $500 in purchases when using Apple Card with Apple Pay, for a total of $30 back at the maximum purchase amount. Apple has a partnership with Walgreens and Duane Reade that normally gives Apple Card users three percent Daily Cash back on purchases, so for the next month, the cash return is doubled.

Apple is offering the promotion through November 15, and Daily Cash can be earned when shopping in-store, online, or in the Walgreens app.

That’s a pretty good deal!

Just remember, cashback is only good if you were already going to spend the money. If you buy unnecessary stuff at Walgreens to get 6% back, it’s not helping you.

This feels like a cry for help (business) from Walgreens. I only ever go there if I need an occasional drug, from the legal drug dealers, uh pharmacists.

Great, just great. Right after I had to switch to CVS when I got Aetna/Caremark Part D coverage. And I don't live in New York!

Only matters if you run a balance and if you do thats your own fault.
My APR could 100% and it would make no difference.

Don't carry a balance.
Unfortunately, that's not possible for a large number of Apple Card holders. Over 25% of them are classified as sub-prime. As a result, Goldman Sachs continues to see higher than average default and delinquency rates, leading them to take more write downs on their consumer business.

... the bank booked $397 million in provisions for credit losses, compared with $7 million a year ago. It set more money aside to cover potential losses in its credit card portfolio.

Goldman continues to take writedowns on its ill-fated consumer business two years after stepping back from it. The bank has since shifted its focus back on traditional mainstays of investment banking and trading.

In exiting a credit card venture with automaker General Motors, which signed a deal with Barclays, Goldman took a one-time hit of $415 million that included a writedown related to the transfer of the business to Barclays.

Its card partnership with Apple is also facing an uncertain future, with JPMorgan in talks to replace Goldman as the tech behemoth's credit-card partner. Executives declined to comment on the status of the card partnership.

I have not been able to use my Apple card since my wife and I merged our accounts. 🙄.. month and still counting... they call me to tell me great news!! We are still working hard to resolve your issues and get your account up and running.. but while you wait, is there something I can help you with? Yes, fix my card 😒..

How does one use this card at Walgreens when everything they have is locked behind glass this year?

I could’ve used this to buy a Covid test kit, but I just got one for free from the USPS.

Yawn…

What’s next, 6.5% cash back when you buy paper clips at Staples between 6 and 8 pm on Thursdays ?

Apple Card is simply a meh offering, unless you’re planning on making a large purchase at Apple.
Even if you're planning on making a large Apple purchase, if you have Amazon Prime, you'll get 2% off using the Prime Card, and 5% credit to your Amazon account. And many times Amazon discounts Apple products that Apple doesn't. Something to consider.

The apple card has been a really good card for me. Firstly, the numbers are blank on the card and you can lock it. So i keep it as an emergency card in my car in case I lose my wallet. Secondly, the 2% is extremely use for places that you normally get 1% like target which i shop often.

People say it's meh, but with no fee. It's a pretty good card all in all. I won't go out of my way to go to walgreens but this is good to know that if i'm in the store, to make sure to use the correct card.
