Just updated my MBP with the latest EFI update. Waited till it reseted and logged in. Once at the login screen after about 2 mins finder along with all other apps quits unexpectedly. I can't even send the report to apple. I can't even click on anything on the top screen. Any idea on a fix?

I notice that everytime I reboot I have to reset my PRAM. Is that normal?

I keep getting the same permissions differ. It repairs but I when I restart it freezes up.

Tried permission repair and disk repair via recovery boot. Still getting the problem report at login. What are my next options.

How do I reinstall lion? I have the lion install on a cd and have my time machine as a backup.

Does it apply to early 2011 SL MBP?

Software update tells me that EFI update (2.7 I think) is ready for download for my early 2011 MBP loaded with Snow Leopard (I'm a pro photog, Lion OS is therefore not an option);
however some googling seems to indicate that this an update for Lion,
not Snow Leopard.....?
Any input would be appreciated.

regards,
JF

i hate EFI updates. i just reinstalled via option restart. so far so good. i guess apples "software update" should be renamed to "install ONLY if needed".
