I have had this issue for a few years but finally asking as its happened again to me and while im sure im not the only one who has/has had this, i cant find anything when i search the forum.

I needed to restore my phone so i made sure to take an iCloud backup before wiping my phone. my iCloud phone backup says the latest backup is at 09:48AM today. once the wiping of my phone is completed and i go to select which iCloud backup i wish to use, under the latest backup, it says 01:48AM.......

ok ive actually figured this out as i was mid typing, but writing this anyway incase its helpful to anyone else.

I noticed in my account settings at iCloud.com that although it was set to UK (location), it was also set to Pacific Time (-8 behind) so this is most likely where the time discrepancy is coming from.

ive now set this to London time (currently BST/UTC+1) so i would guess that if i was to take another backup now, it would show the correct time under the latest backup to restore from (although i wont be testing this now my phone has finally restored, i dont fancy doing this all over again :))

for anyone wondering why the restore, ive got a 14 PM and the battery life is awful so trying different things besides deleting hungry background apps and reducing my 5G capabilities.

panic over 😅
