latest iPad Pro magic keyboard compatible with 2018 iPad Pro 3rd gen?

hey guys. does the current latest magic keyboard (5th gen) for ipad pro 12.9 work also with 3rd gen 2018 ipad pro as well as the latest 2021? on website it says it works with 5th/4th/3rd gen, i just want to make sure. i wouldnt want to get a keyboard now for my current ipad pro and then have to get another if i ever upgrade
