Latest iTunes safe with jailbroken iPod?

I was notified that there was a new version of iTunes available, but was wondering if it was safe to update in use with a jailbroken iPod?

The main question is usually whether new iTunes versions are compatible with the various jailbreaking processes. For example the Spirit jailbreak could not be done if your iTunes was later than a certain version (9.1 I think). I don't remember hearing about iTunes messing up an already jailbroken iDevice.
