Hey everyone,

With the pre-order date of the iPhone 7 likely taking place this Friday, when do you all speculate the actual launch date of the phone will be? The following Friday (the 16th), or two weeks after pre-order (the 23rd)?
I know for this iPhone 6S we had to wait about 2 weeks after pre-order for the phone to launch, or something thereabouts.

I am personally hoping for the 16th!

A penny for your thoughts :)

I am hoping for a September 16th launch but I feel they'll go for the 23rd as that is an extra week of supply they can manufacture, allowing them to ship even more iPhones out. Who knows, guess we'll find out tomorrow! o_O

My money is on 9/16. Historically Apple has only needed 7-10 days between announcement and release.

The only time they've needed two weeks was when they announced on a Friday. My thinking is that they didn't want to release it on a Wednesday, so they waited until Friday.

Its the 16th or 23rd. If it follows last years pattern it will be the 23rd.

It'll be the 16th - if they follow the iPhone 6 release pattern.

The problem is, they are already following last year and not any previous year. They are doing the announcement the week of Labor Day, so it pushed the event back to a Wednesday from a Tuesday. Same as last year, but different from the iPhone 6 and previous years. So as much as I want it to be the 16th, I'm expecting it to be the 23rd.

I just pray to god that preorders start at midnight SATURDAY and not FRIDAY. It was SO nice last year not having to go to bed, set my alarm to get up at midnight, try to go back to sleep, only to get up early to go to work.

Last year we went shopping after work, on Friday evening, after we got home I played around on the computer (OK... on MacRumors).... placed my orders and went to bed! LOVED it!

I know, it really sucks for me during the week too. I have to get up at 3am(well a little before), cant really go back to sleep, have to be at work at 6:30

I will be out of town on the 23rd as well for 2 weeks...I guess I may have to find out how to order to deliver to another address.

Totally agree!! It's hard to go to bed, wake up at 1:55 to order the phone and fall back asleep (especially after all of the anticipation). Waking up at 5:30 am on Friday morning is always brutal.

Last year I was able to wake up, order and sleep in since it was Saturday morning. The best preorder experience ever.

Now there is an Apple fan willing to bite the bullet and wake up early just to preorder, then go back to bed, to have to work at 6:30. I made sure I was off of work. But I'm also a planner.
