Ever since I installed Yosemite, I've been experiencing high CPU usage and the fans running constantly on my Late 2011 MacBook Pro (specs in signature). It's been so bad that the battery lasted an hour last time it was unplugged (battery has 95% health). I've been looking at Activity Monitor and it seems that launchd and fseventsd are always taking up >50% CPU usage. There was one day they stopped and let me have some peace from the fans, but for at least the past five days it's been non-stop. Anyone else experiencing this or have an idea to solve this? Not much good to have a laptop that can't stay unplugged for an eight of its rated time and who knows when an update that could fix this will be released. Windows 8 on Boot Camp actually gives me better battery life at this point. Hopefully the solution isn't just to reinstall Yosemite . Wouldn't be so awful since I have OS X on a separate drive from my files, but it's still a hassle.
