Launching apps

What do I need to launch some apps that when selected just bounce a few times in the dock then disappear.

Sorry, i mean 3rd part apps not loading- just bouncing on dock twice then going, im on OS X 10.4. I need something like stuffit.

Mmmmm... StuffIt doesn't launch Apps, it compacts or un-compacts them

Exactly what Apps are you trying to launch?
Maybe that will help with the troubleshooting

are the apps compatible?

I run 10.4 and if I try to install an app that is designed to run on 10.5, It will either pop up and close right away, or bounce a few times then close. It just can't run on here.

same thing will happen if you try to launch an intel only app on a ppc machine.
