when i went into launchpad for the first time there was a duplicate of almost every app after cleaning it up i have three folders of duplicates is there anyway to get rid of these i tried deleting them by holding down to get the x put almost none of the apps had this option and i can't through them away either anyone else have this problem or found a solution

See if you have 2 copies of the apps in your Applications folder, if you've created new folders to keep things organised, the Lion upgrade seems to reinstall stock apps in the default location, meaning you have 2 copies.

I just trashed the duplicates and they disappeared from Launch Pad :)

It seems if i delete my only copy of an app from my app folder then only one shows up in my launchpad

Figured it out i had two seperate app folders and they both had different versions off all my apps once i deleted the older folder the duplicates in launchpad eventually went away

Follow up question. I can't seem to move the new applications that Lion has installed. For example I can't move "chess" into my games folder because its "Required by Lion" it tells me. I never knew my computer required a game a chess to run.

Ideas?
