Launchpad Problem with 10.10

If I go into Launchpad and click "Other", I cannot get OUT OF it, unless I go back into the DOCK, hit Launchpad again, and only when this OTHER screen shows up again, that's when my ESCAPE button will take me out!

This 10.10 is for the dogs!

This kind of nuisance took me away from Windows 8 years ago.
