It's not the same.Drag your Applications folder onto the Dock. Launchpad!
...If you are OK with not being able to manually rearrange the apps, or being able to arrange them into subfolders (without actually moving them around no disk)...Drag your Applications folder onto the Dock. Launchpad!
Bad ADVICE. Now that applications folder is no longer in Finder and it is not showing on the dockDrag your Applications folder onto the Dock. Launchpad!
huh? if you put a folder in the dock, it puts an alias only there. check your folders, you moved the app folder somewhere. and what apps folder do you mean? an alias of the main Applications folder?Bad ADVICE. Now that applications folder is no longer in Finder and it is not showing on the dock
then you moved it somewhere (edge of the screen, another folder). the main applications folder can not be moved; if you drag it to the desktop, you'll have an alias to it (a shortcut). if you drag it to the dock... same.Followed instructions from the person above.
“Drag your Applications folder onto the Dock. Launchpad”
Now its gone
Yup. Also, in Finder sidebar, it doesn't even look like a folder so ....check your hard drive>applications. the folder is there. drag THAT to the dock, make sure it sits in the dock
it's THERE on your hard drive, it can't be dragged out of the main folder. check "macintosh HD" or whatever your drive is named.Searched high and low. It’s hidden from most paths I’ve searched. Might just have to reset it to get it back. It’s just my home iMac used for surfing and social media. Not my work Mac.
That's where I dropped it and it disappeared as soon as I let up on my mouse button. I found it and put it back in Finder. I think I'll leave it there. I was just wanting the old LaunchPad like before macOS 26. Like in the screenshot and when you clicked it the whole screen showed the apps. The new Apps app only opens a small window and you have to scroll through the apps. IDK. Honestly I don't think macOS Tahoe 26 is what it should be. They're trying to hard to make it all look like iOS 26. I have an iPhone and iPad for that
I prefer applications over launchpad on Tahoe. Should be treated like iOS App Library.Drag your Applications folder onto the Dock. Launchpad!

With LaunchPad you can drag the most used apps to the front and leave the less used in the 2nd page. Apps doesn't allow you to place the most used apps up top. Also can't make a subfolder. All Utilities had their own folder in Launchpad unless you moved one.I prefer applications over launchpad on Tahoe. Should be treated like iOS App Library.
Launchpad is full screen and you rummage through a lot to find your apps.
Didn’t know about that 😂 I’m a new Mac user so I just used it to launch apps without spotlight searchWith LaunchPad you can drag the most used apps to the front and leave the less used in the 2nd page.
