I'd be surprised if many people even know who she is.

She had almost disappeared but I found a duet on Mexican singer, Luis Miguel's album years after her big singles.

My prayers go out to her family and friends. May she rest in peace. She died in her sleep, so she left easily. :(

I know who she is! For us "old folks" (26+) everyone remembers 'Gloria' of 1982... it hit the top of the Bilboard charts and is part of the 1982 compilation. I had no idea she was only 25 when she sang that... I always thought she was much older. It's really very sad. :(

i c

her song "self control" is in the vice city radio station flash fm.... i believe it was a hit in 84'

Man, I remember the summer days my sister and I spent trying to hold that one long note in "Solitaire." A full 12 seconds, that was!!

A shame she was so young....but y'know, as we all get older, more and more of the famous names we remember from our youth are going to keep showing up in the obituaries, and with increasing frequency.

Very sad.

I just bought "Gloria" during the iTMS 100,000,000th download contest and I saw her here in Houston in the early 80's. She had a wonderful voice and I was hoping she would have a second career. There are plenty of women who are having music careers (either continuous or resurrected) in pop/rock music at ages when they would previously have been shunned.

I'm glad she was having recent success portraying Janis Joplin. It's so sad to lose such a talent so suddenly.

No kidding. Looking at the sad sordid bunch of music chicks these days I wish that girls like Jennifer Rush would come back. Another awesome voice from the 80ies.
Cheers,
