So I have a client who spilled some liquid over his MacBook Pro 15" Mid-2010, and he bought it over to me to have a look and clean it up. I cleaned up as much of the liquid damage as I could, however the thing that really didn't work at all, which still doesn't work at all, is the LCD. I've extensively cleaned it with Isopropyl Alcohol (the LCD connector, LCD socket, and the area around it), but still no result. There is no backlight, no image, nothing. I would have seen something if the LCD turned on because I had a bright LED behind it which is my work light.

When hooking it up to an external monitor, everything works fine. After discussing this issue on the MacRumors IRC, I was recommended to order a new screen. Nevertheless, I would prefer to get this to work without spending extra cash or time, and plus I have no clue where to get the screen without getting ripped off (eBay is a bit dodgy for LCDs in my experiences, my usual parts supplier does not have the correct LCD in stock, and the several Alibaba suppliers that offer it don't seem too legit for me). Pics below of the problem.
