Do y'all think this is why the 15 inch powerbook upgrade has been delayed, do you think they are preparing it with an OLED display?? that would be kick ass!

No way are we going to see a 15" OLED display in the new PowerBook -

viewing angle and responsiveness mean that the lucrative laptop and large-screen TV markets are longer-term goals. Kodak showcased a 15-inch monitor at this year's CeBIT show and an IBM joint research venture has already produced a 20-inch OLED prototype screen

We might be seeing OLED displays for computers in 2-4 years, not anytime soon, though. They are much more expensive to make right now, but have the potential of being cheaper. Once production becomes simpler and cheaper. Kodak is only putting and 2.2 inch OLED display on their camera....

2-4 years off sounds about right, especially where TVs are concerned. Also, isn't there a, ah, 'disposable' issue to deal with?

Nah, Apple was keeping an old machine around in all the lines to keep the education and the Quark crowd happy.

That OS9 bootability thang.

The next speed bump cycle should clean house, hopefully.

It's highly unlikely it is for this screen -- or as a 970 holdback like the rumor mongers claim.
