I suspected that the iPad mini would start at the $250 mark to better compete directly with other tablets and ereaders. Hopefully this is correct.

I would think the difference between the 64GB model would be the same or further from the cost of the iPad 64GB model, more specifically because this is much higher profit margin product than the 8GB or 16GB would be... Look at my chart below to see what I mean.

It was posted on front page a either Monday or Tuesday..

I think you're confusing this pricing information with the SKU information (which lacked pricing).

Feel free to link me to the front page story if it exists.

Maybe not quite front page (Front page on EnGadget though) but it has been posted before:

Trust me - I have been reading all the mini prices threads lol :)

Great, how is the front page of Engadget at all relevant to the front page of MacRumors?

Wow, pricing looks reasonable to apple standards to me..However that spread sheet is something I can very easily make up in Excel and post it up as a leaked document. mmmm i dunno.

I agree. Will have to wait and see I guess!

for $650 for the higher end iPad mini, I cant fathom how the price could be justified without a retina display :S

If the 16gb for $350 is retina , I'm going with that

But if is not , I'm going with the 8gb $250

As the description is in German and the last column say: sales price. We can assume its in Euro and contain 19% VAT. Do the math into your currency.

I'm betting it will be a 16GB Wifi for $249 at the low end. Fits perfectly in between the 16GB iPod touch for $199 and the 32GB iPod touch for $299.
A 32GB iPad Mini at $349 would also be a perfect upsell from a 32GB $299 iPod touch. Same memory, just a bigger screen.
Would be very strange for Apple to make this the only device that starts at 8GB.

I just can't see apple pricing it that low. I was thinking of going for the 8gb, until I looked at my iphone 5 usage and I'm already taking up 4.9gb of my 16. There is no way 8 would work for me. In my perfect world the 16 would be about 299, but I don't see that happening.
