This actually looks real, although I hope the the bezel is widened a bit in the final version: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lhddtfMG5S1qzcom7o1_500.jpg

my assumption is when a leaked photo does come out it wont be on a UK carrier, unless apple no longer is a US company
The pic could have been taken by someone testing on the O2 network. O2 were the primary partner with Apple, in the UK, and did have testing units prior to each launch.

[...]remember with the iphone4 they couldnt even get it to load a firmware so yeah. And the other leaks were running a diagnostic program instead of ios.
That's because a goober lost it and remotely wiped it, try installing any firmware on a bricked iPhone - let alone a prototype that is designed to run a 'future' iOS.
Leaked shots are taken in factories with tiny cameras. They're certaily not professional shoots with many lights set up, a large SLR, and a hand model.
Those type of marketing shots are taken much closer to launch, first of all, and secondly, they're not going to leak because there's only a half-dozen people who it could have been so they're certain to get nailed for it.
Show me a grainy photo from a factory warehouse if you want any credibility.
That would be telling and then you'd know as much as they do. (it's a power thing). Can any of you "photoshopped experts" point out in that leaked photo of any evidence that the picture is not authentic?
