iPod touch Leaking Orange Fluid

My ipod touch is leaking an orange fluid. I bought it refurb through Apples in Jan 2010. It is ver 3.1.1 serial 9E9412QC203. What is it? It saturated my purse and ate the blue coating on my other iphone case! What is it? The device is still working just fine. I can't find anything online. Any ideas?
