Learn AppleScript?

Are there any good sites to teach me how to create AppleScripts. I've tried reading the documentation on Apple's website but I got soooo bored with them that I gave up. So I need a very straight forward site to teach me how to write them with out a whole lot of mombo jumbo.

I think AppleScript is a bunch of mumbo jumbo. *ducks*
Too verbose for me. I like Objective-C.
