When you ask OS X to learn the spelling of a word, where are these 'custom' words stored?

After re-installing the OS and all of my personal settings (I thought) recently, the custom learned spellings didn't make it.

I'd like to back them up. Does anyone know where from?

Thanks.

Its in your user home folder/Library/Spelling/<langid>

where <langid> is your language locale.

it will most likely be ~/Library/Spelling/en-uk (I think)

Edit: I may have that locale ID wrong, but also wanted to note that had you used the Migration Assistant, these would have been transferred.

Ah, so obvious now I see it! Thanks for your help.

For some reason I don't trust the migration assistant.
