I'm familiar with Winbloze, Linux, BSD and Amiga but have yet to learn the guts to Mac OS X. Any suggestions on learning the OS inside and out? Websites, books, magazines, etc..?

Thanks,
Derek

Apples discussion pages are a good source for info too. Pick something that you are interested in and look at the possible solutions posted. I learnt alot from spending time on those forums. As well as here :D

I applaud you for wanting to understand something that is new to you. We see a lot of "Why doesn't this work like Windows..." questions around here. You can learn the outside by trying things. That's the Mac way. As has been mentioned, there is a lot of information online about learning the insides. I suggest you go to Amazon and search for Subject: OS X. There are many approaches. Pick the ones you think will be most helpful. Best wishes.

A) buy a mac loaded with OS X, if you havent already :p

B) Get any of the "dummies" series......

ie Macs for Dummies, OS X for dummies, etc etc,

very easy to understand, written in "everyday" language, not highly technical, but great for newbies :p

I just went and bought a Mac, and played with it. About two hours of use and you'll learn about all you truly need to know. Any other info is easy to figure out when you need it.

Yep, use it for two hours, and you'll know how to use it. If you really want to know the guts, use it for two weeks. You don't need a manual or what not. :p
