I have the issue of the Playground Sessions piano tutorial software not recognizing my keyboard. It doesn't have a MIDI connection but does have a USB port and when connected to my laptop (10.6.3) via USB cable it automatically opens iTunes so they are clearly talking to one and other. I can even pause, skip back and forward in iTunes via buttons on the keyboard but no matter what I do I just cant get the Playground Sessions platform to sync and recognize it?

Any suggestions on this issue would be great as I'm really eager to get started.

Its not a very expensive keyboard -

Like I said, when it is plugged in via the USB cable it recognizes iTunes on the computer so that suggests to me that they are talking to each other. Just cant seem to get Playground Sessions to talk to it.

Thanks for anyone who can help.

I just searched down their web page and looked at the specs. There is no reason why anyone should expect this to work. It does not even claim to support MIDI. It simply is NOT a midi keyboard.

Kind of like expecting to watch TV on a toaster, don't blame the toaster. From what I can see the USB cable is only for audio.

But you still want to learn piano? ditch the software. that will never work. Go to Amazon and buy a book "Alfred's Teach Yourself to Play Piano" is one of the best and sell for under $10

At some point very soon you will need a piano keyboard with piano action keys. That thing you have is not a piano. It has "synth action" But it will be a few months before you can notice the difference.

Go to this forum and sign up. Read BOTH the electronic and the beginner's forums. But be warned of the snobs in the beginner's forum that don't like electronic instruments. But read both

You will get the best advice there but you may not like what they say.
