So in trying to figure out the least booting text tone that comes stock with the iPhone. Most of them aren't annoying...unless you get a lot of texts. Which I do. I need something that gets my attention without being annoying. So far Ive been using the "telegraph" tone.

Which tone do you use?

This is a tough one. Tri-tone sounds the easiest on the ears, but it's pretty annoying to be out in public with others using the same tone (I find people don't often change their tones for some reason). I don't like to go grabbing for my phone when some other phone makes an alert. Apple finally gave us the option to add our own tones. Better late than never I guess. :)

Yeah tri-tone is good. But like you said everyone uses that. My wife uses doorbell do that's out.

I used tri-tone for 4 years and finally had enough of hearing it everywhere I go. I changed to fanfare which is pretty close to tri-tone while still being distinguishable in public.

I tried horn and I like it. I'll give it a few days.

Tri-tone definitely gets annoying because everyone has it. Also almost everyone on my team at work has an iPhone. So I don't want to have the same tone as someone else.

And I am on call sometimes. So I need something that gets my attention and can wake me up

I was gonna change but figured I'd stick with the stock tones that make the iphone an iphone....ringtone: miramba and text: tri-tone
