Here it only mentions that it supports a clear or silicone case, so how about the incoming leather case? It's so confusing.

Leather Wallet on top of a Leather Case?

Here it only mentions that it supports a clear or silicone case, so how about the incoming leather case? It's so confusing.
They probably don‘t mention the leather cases yet, since they are not available on the store. Customers could be confused, since they wouldn‘t be able to find anything on the leather cases. Think they‘ll update the text as soon as the leather cases arrive on November 6th.
I think the problem here was really the pandemic. If I am not mistaken Apple uses Italian Leather. Italy has had a quite extensive lockdown (much longer than China). So Apple probably didn‘t get the quantities they needed.The quantity they got they allocated to the wallet production, since they needed to launch earlier.
